My car recently broke down on me on the side of the road, and being that I am no expert when it comes to cars, I really did not know what to do about it. I ended up having to pay for a tow truck to come and take my car to a mechanic, and the tow alone cost me a pretty penny. Little did I know that I could have subscribed to a virginia roadside assistance plan in order to avoid having such a cost if I ever ran into a problem on the road. It was the tow truck driver that told me about the different plans that are out there, and after doing a little bit of math, I realized that it would have saved me a whole lot of money had I paid a small monthly fee and gotten my car towed for free.
The fact of the matter is that you never know when your vehicle could break down on the side of the road, and when something like that happens, it is far better to have been prepared in the first place than it is to cover all of the costs that come with the break down. Had I been proactive, I would have saved a whole lot of money throughout this entire situation. Unfortunately, I had failed to think ahead, and because of this I wound up having to pay a bunch of money for the tow on top of what I had to pay the mechanic.
I would suggest that everyone have some sort of roadside assistance plan to protect themselves from situations like this. You never know when something bad might happen, and so it is always best to be prepared ahead of time.
